Core Requirements (24 hours)
The core of the IS curriculum introduces students to a variety of disciplines and approaches to examining the global system. Specific requirements are:

Foreign Language (6 hours)
To insure a good degree of competency in a foreign language, IS majors are also required to take two upper-level courses in a modern foreign language. A majority of IS majors graduate with at least a minor in their language of choice (which requires only one additional course beyond the requirements of the major). These courses can either be taken on-campus or completed during a study abroad.
Concentration (9 hours)
Three courses, in at least two disciplines, from either the "Global Processes" or "Area Studies" concentrations.
Students also take additional courses that deal with a broad variety of international issues, cultures, and processes. Both available concentrations, Global Processes and Area Studies, provide students with a great deal of flexibility to pursue their own areas of interest.
